Thomas has been in the tax preparation and financial services business since 1993 and holds the following credentials and licenses:
- Enrolled Agent (EA) – a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled Agents are generally unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can practice before. In contrast, practice before the IRS is much more limited for other individuals such as unenrolled tax return preparers, accountants, family members, full time employees, partners, and corporate officers.
- Series 6 Securities – a person registered as an Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative with an FINRA broker-dealer and qualified to sell investment company securities (mutual funds) and variable contracts. Tom is currently licensed with Genworth Financial Securities Corporation.
- Accredited Business Accountant (ABA) – is the voluntary public alternative to the certified public accountant designation. This credential is designed for professionals who specialize in supporting the financial needs of individuals and small to medium sized businesses.
Ongoing education plays a significant role in staying abreast of changes and updates in today’s financial marketplace. Tom has long standing affiliations with several professional societies that keep him informed on a regular basis. He currently holds memberships with:
